The Open Source Culture Foundation - in order to support artistic culture in Poland - has resolved to continue the Stefan Batory Foundation grantmaking program for social and cultural magazines issued in print. On the 16th of January 2004 the Open Source Culture Foundation has announced a

COMPETITION RULES
The funds will be awarded on a competition basis, and the competition is open to editorial offices or publishers, whose publications meet the following criteria:
- the magazine has received at least 3 Stefan Batory Foundation grants in 1998-2003
- average grant amounted to at least 4 000 PLN
- earlier grants have been correctly calculated
- the magazine’s profile is associated with social or artistc culture
- the magazine is not a publication of a national institution
The session of the Grant Commission of the Open Source Culture Foundation took place on the 18th of February 2004 in the Foundation's Warsaw seat at Mazowiecka 12, Warsaw.
Of 24 invited publishers, 21 put forward grant apllications fulfilling formal requirements. The grant distribution is based on application analysis and factors such as publishing costs, importance of financial support for the stability of the periodical's functioning, role of the periodical in the development of regional and national culture.

- The Kraków Theatre Association (Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Teatralne), “Didaskalia” bimonthly - PLN 10 000
- The Liberal Foundation (Fundacja Liberałów), “Przegląd Polityczny” quarterly - PLN 10 000
- “Krakowska Alternatywa” Association for the Culture of Kraków, “Ha!Art” quarterly - PLN 10 000
- “Fraza” Artistic and Literary Association (Stowarzyszenie Literacko-Artystyczne Fraza), “Fraza” quarterly - PLN 6 000
